The installation procedure for Magento 1.4.x should be the same as in the past w/ 1.3.x, the only difference is you need to update your head.phtml because that was changed. Copy the new code from the install guide of my extension

Thanks

I have the same issue with VAF stable 1.6 on Magento 1.4.0.1
JS not loading, so dropdowns and backend product editing is not working

Hi 12tune,

For this I recommend to install firebug. On the 'net' tab it will show you where any 404 requests are coming from. Its possible you have not followed the steps in the install about pasting the codes into the right head.phtml so also view source and make sure you can view the codes there in the source of your live site.

If you shoot us an email request we will gladly repair your installation as part of normal support.

I followed the steps and was able to install the free demo onto the latest 1.4.1 release of Magento CE with no problems at all. Hopefully the paid VAF version works as well on Magento PE.

We can't guarantee this. Magento currently has no way for developers to gain access to non free versions of Magento. No way I am spending $10,500 to buy all the Magento versions, we currently are doing under $100k in gross sales per year. If you guys send me the source code I will sign an NDA with you in private and we will make it work, otherwise I Have no means to gain access to the code base. I requested that Magento start a "developer program" and was censored numerous times. The new versions just won't come out as quickly.

I urge anyone considering purchasing magento, to write Magento and express your disapproval of their actions. Extension developers shouldn't have to break the law to help Magento create its missing functionality. Read about Magneto's unscrupulous methods to hide this: http://joshribakoff.com/?p=193
